Biography
Patrick Cassidy is an Irish composer of orchestral, choral and film music. Born in Claremorris, County Mayo, he studied applied mathematics at the University of Limerick, graduating in 1985.
He is known for film scores including Kill the Irishman (2011) and Calvary (2014), for which he received award nominations. His aria "Vide Cor Meum", written for Hannibal (2001), was also used in Kingdom of Heaven (2005). Cassidy has composed narrative cantatas based on Irish mythology, such as The Children of Lir, and collaborated on projects including Ashes and Snow (2005) with Lisa Gerrard. He lives in Los Angeles.
