Biography
Patsy Byrne was an English actress. She was born Patricia Anne Thirza Byrne on 13 July 1933 and died on 17 June 2014.
Byrne studied drama at Rose Bruford College and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in productions including Twelfth Night and The Caucasian Chalk Circle in the early 1960s. She also worked at the Chichester Festival Theatre. She is best known for playing Nursie in the BBC series Blackadder II (1986) and its specials, and Mrs Stoneway in the ITV sitcom Watching (1987–1993). Other television and film roles include appearances in I, Claudius (1976), Inspector Morse (1989), Les Misérables (1998), David Copperfield (1999) and Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000).
