Biography
Paul Alexander is a British comedy writer, screenwriter and script editor. He studied at Royal Holloway College and began his career writing for comics before moving into television with a BBC play and contributions to series featuring comedians such as Jasper Carrott and Dave Allen.
He co-wrote five episodes of Red Dwarf across series VII and VIII (1997–1999) and served as script editor on the show. His other television credits include episodes of Goodnight Sweetheart (1993), Lovejoy (1986), My Hero, My Parents Are Aliens and Emmerdale. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1994 film Staggered, which he co-produced, and contributed to S Club 7 television and film projects.
Alexander has written for radio, including co-writing four series of The Castle (2007–2012), and for the stage, including the book for the musical The Smallest Show on Earth.
