Biography
Paul Andrew Williams is a British film and television writer and director. Born in Portsmouth in 1973, he began his career as an actor before moving into writing and directing short films and pop promos.
His feature debut London to Brighton (2006), which he also wrote and produced, won the New Director's Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Subsequent films include The Cottage (2008), Cherry Tree Lane (2010), Song for Marion (2012) and Bull (2021). He has also directed the television dramas The Eichmann Show (2015), A Confession (2019) and series three of Broadchurch (2013).
Williams has received BAFTA recognition for his television work, including for Murdered by My Boyfriend (2014) and Murdered for Being Different (2017).
