Biography
Paul Falkenberg was a German-American film editor and documentary filmmaker. Born in Berlin in 1903, he began working in the German film industry in the late 1920s as an assistant director on films by G. W. Pabst, including Pandora's Box (1929) and Diary of a Lost Girl (1929).
He edited Fritz Lang's M (1931) and contributed to Carl Theodor Dreyer's Vampyr (1932), as well as other German productions of the early sound era. After emigrating to the United States, he worked on documentaries and short films, directing and producing titles such as Willem de Kooning, the Painter (1966). He died in New York City in 1986.
