Biography
Paul Germain is an American writer, director and producer. A native of Los Angeles, he began his career at Gracie Films working with James L. Brooks as a production assistant on Terms of Endearment (1983) and as associate producer on the film Say Anything... (1989) and the series The Tracey Ullman Show.
Germain co-created the Nickelodeon animated series Rugrats (1991) with Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó, serving as creative producer and showrunner for the original episodes. With Joe Ansolabehere he later co-created the Disney series Recess (1997) and Lloyd in Space (2001). He wrote the screenplay for Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue (2010) and has contributed to other animated projects including Pound Puppies (2010).
His early credits also include work on the original Simpsons shorts and the films Big (1988) and Broadcast News (1987).
