Biography
Paul Marcus was a British television director and producer. The son of playwright Frank Marcus, he was educated at Latymer Upper School and Lincoln College, Oxford, and completed the BBC directors' course. He began his career in theatre before moving into television and film.
Marcus produced the second and third series of Prime Suspect (1992–1993), which received BAFTA and Emmy awards. He also directed Prime Suspect: The Scent of Darkness (1995), the final instalment of the fourth series. His other directing credits include the feature films Break Up (1998) and Heidi (2005), as well as episodes of series such as Dalziel and Pascoe, In Deep and Roman Mysteries.
He died in London on 13 February 2011.
