Biography
Paul Montague was a British production designer who worked primarily on BBC television series in the 1980s. His credits include production design on The Mike Harding Show (1979–1982), The Consultant (1983), Sharon and Elsie (1985), Hell's Bells (1986) and ChuckleVision (1988–1989).
He designed the sets for the first two series of the science-fiction sitcom Red Dwarf (1988), creating the spaceship interiors with a dingy, claustrophobic submarine aesthetic that established the visual template for the programme. Montague died on 10 January 2011.
