Biography
Paul Playdon was a British-American television writer and producer. He was born on 14 January 1943 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, and died on 12 May 2023 in Silicon Beach, Los Angeles, California. He began his career as a child actor, appearing in episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and uncredited roles in films including Gaby (1956) and Merry Andrew (1958).
Playdon wrote for numerous American television series from the 1960s onwards. His credits include multiple episodes of Mission: Impossible (1966), for which he also served as script consultant; Cannon (1971); Hawaii Five-O (1969); Battlestar Galactica (1978); CHiPs (1977), which he developed for television; The Wild Wild West (1965); and Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1974). He worked as a story editor on Garrison's Gorillas (1967) and as a producer on series including The Magician (1973) and Banacek (1972).
