Biography

Paul Schiff is an American film and television producer. He began his career as a documentary cameraman in New York City and directed for MTV for four years in the channel's early period. A film studies graduate of Wesleyan University, he moved into feature films as an associate producer on Streets of Gold (1986), the directorial debut of Joe Roth, who became his mentor.

Schiff served as vice president of production at Morgan Creek Productions under Roth and later held production deals at 20th Century Fox and Disney. His credits include Young Guns (1988) and its sequel, My Cousin Vinny (1992), The Vanishing (1993), PCU (1994) and Wes Anderson's Rushmore (1998). He has also produced Maid in Manhattan (2002), Mona Lisa Smile (2003) and later films such as Fractured (2019). Schiff has worked as second unit director on several projects and appeared as an actor in Rushmore.
