Biography
Paul C. Vogel (22 August 1899 – 24 November 1975) was an American cinematographer. Born in New York City, he began his career in the 1920s and worked primarily at MGM, with a break for military service during the Second World War. He was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
Vogel's credits include Lady in the Lake (1947), Battleground (1949), High Society (1956), The Time Machine (1960) and The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (1962). He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography (Black-and-White) for Battleground. His brother, Joseph R. Vogel, was a vice president of Loew's and later president of MGM.
