Biography
Paul Whitsun-Jones (1923–1974) was a Welsh character actor. Born in Newport, Monmouthshire, he was educated at Merchant Taylors' School in Northwood, Middlesex, and began his career with two years at York Repertory Theatre from 1948.
He appeared in West End productions including The Moonraker (1952), Dangerous Curves (1953), the Wazir in Kismet (1955–1957) and Mr Bumble in the original production of Oliver! (1960). His film roles included Scarlatti in The Masque of the Red Death (1964), Major 'Dusty' Miller in Tunes of Glory (1960) and Sergeant Danvers in Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde (1971). On television he appeared in The Quatermass Experiment (1953), multiple episodes of The Avengers and two Doctor Who serials: The Smugglers (1966) and The Mutants (1972). He died in London aged 50.
