Biography
Paula Alma Kelly was an American actress, singer, dancer and choreographer. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, she trained at the Juilliard School and performed with the companies of Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey before making her Broadway debut in 1964.
She appeared in films including Sweet Charity (1969), The Andromeda Strain (1971) and Soylent Green (1973). On television she had a regular role as Liz Williams in the first season of Night Court (1984), for which she received an Emmy nomination, and guest-starred as Marguerite in The Golden Girls (1987). She was married to the British director Don Chaffey from 1985 until his death in 1990.
