Biography
Paulyn Sun, also known as Alien Sun or Pauline Suen, is a Singaporean actress based in Hong Kong. Born Suen Kai-kwan on 11 September 1974 in Singapore, she represented her country at the Miss Universe 1994 pageant after winning Miss Singapore Universe. She left a career in business development to begin acting in Hong Kong, making her screen debut in the 1995 film The Golden Girls.
She is known for her voice role as Mrs. Chow in Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love (2000). Other film credits include Island of Greed (1997), for which she received a Hong Kong Film Award nomination, Ichi the Killer (2001) as Karen, The Accidental Spy (2001), Project Gutenberg (2018) as Ms Wah, and Rob N Roll (2024) as Chong. She has also appeared in later films such as Sixty Million Dollar Man (1995). Sun is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese, and attended Simon Fraser University.
