Biography
Pavel Kříž is a Czech actor and psychotherapist. Born on 18 April 1961 in Brno, he trained at the Prague Conservatory and began his career in Czech theatre, including engagements at Divadlo E. F. Buriana and the Činoherní klub.
He gained prominence in the 1980s for his role as Štěpán Šafránek in the film series beginning with Jak svět přichází o básníky (1982). After emigrating to the United Kingdom and then Canada in the late 1980s, he studied psychotherapy at the University of British Columbia and worked in that field while occasionally acting. He returned to the Czech Republic in the mid-1990s and resumed acting, appearing in films such as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) as Marek Stefanski, Last Knights (2015) and Serena (2014). In 2010 he won the fourth season of the Czech television dance competition StarDance.
