Biography
Peggy Lee, born Norma Deloris Egstrom, was an American singer, songwriter, composer and actress. She supplied the speaking and singing voices for Darling, the Siamese cats Si and Am, and the dog Peg in Walt Disney's 1955 animated film Lady and the Tramp, and co-wrote several of its songs with Sonny Burke.
Lee appeared in feature films including The Jazz Singer (1952) and Pete Kelly's Blues (1955), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She performed on television variety programmes and continued recording and appearing into the 1990s.
