Biography
Peter Buckman is an English writer and literary agent. His screenwriting credits include an episode of the television series Inspector Morse (1989), three episodes of The House of Eliott (1991), the television film Unnatural Causes (1993), and the television movie The Tale of Sweeney Todd (1997). He also contributed to the screenplay for the film Appointment with Death (1988).
Buckman has worked in publishing for many years, serving on the editorial board of Penguin Books and as a commissioning editor for the New American Library in New York. He has published novels, non-fiction, a biography and short stories. In 2003 he founded The Ampersand Agency, representing authors including Vikas Swarup and the estate of Georgette Heyer. In 2025 he began publishing a series of crime novels, 'The Pumpernickel Mysteries', under his own imprint.
