Biography

Peter C. Frank was an American film editor. Born in New York City on 17 January 1943, he initially worked in sound editing on productions including Reds (1981) and Melvin and Howard (1980) before making his debut as picture editor on Sidney Lumet’s The Verdict (1982).

He went on to edit features such as Dirty Dancing (1987), Miss Firecracker (1989), A Shock to the System (1990), Joe’s Apartment (1996), Prefontaine (1997), Empire (2002) and Cadillac Records (2008), as well as television projects including the miniseries Their Eyes Were Watching God (2005). Frank was a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild and the American Cinema Editors. In later years he worked as a mediator, social worker and psychotherapist. He died on 19 August 2024.
