Biography
Peter Care is an English director of music videos, commercials and film. Born in Penzance, Cornwall, he studied film at the Psalter Lane School of Art in Sheffield after a foundation year at Falmouth Art College. After graduating, he co-founded the Sheffield Independent Film Company and directed documentaries and short films, including the 1982 short Johnny Yesno.
Care became known for music videos for artists including Cabaret Voltaire, R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen and Depeche Mode. He later directed commercials and his feature debut, The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (2002), which won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. In 2004 he directed an episode of the HBO series Six Feet Under. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award for music videos from the Music Video Production Association in 2005.
