Biography
Peter Coulson was a British film and television editor. Born in Somerset in 1942, he joined the BBC in 1964 and trained at its Ealing Studios. He went freelance in 1976 as a cameraman and editor, later founding his own production company, Lodestar.
Coulson edited numerous BBC dramas, including Cider with Rosie (1971) and four Plays for Today. He is best known for his work on the 1995 miniseries Pride and Prejudice, as well as Gulliver's Travels (1996), Longitude (2000) and Shackleton (2002). He collaborated on nine projects with director Charles Sturridge; three of these earned him BAFTA nominations for best editing. He also received Emmy nominations.
Coulson died in 2024.
