Biography

Peter Donahue is a cinematographer. He grew up in Boston and studied still photography at art school before moving to New York, where he worked as a photographer’s assistant and then as a gaffer on independent films. He began shooting music videos and commercials, and met documentary director Errol Morris while working on a commercial; Morris later asked him to shoot Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr. (1999) and The Fog of War (2003).

Donahue’s subsequent credits include the features Junebug (2005), Then She Found Me (2007), Gigantic (2008) and $5 a Day (2008), the documentary Prophet’s Prey (2015), and an episode of the series Billions (2022). He lives in New York.
