Biography
Peter Handke is an Austrian writer known for his work in film, theatre and literature. He wrote the screenplay for Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire (1987), a collaboration that also included earlier projects such as Wrong Move (1975) and The Goalie’s Anxiety at the Penalty Kick (1972).
Handke was born on 6 December 1942 in Griffen, Austria. He studied law at the University of Graz before establishing himself as a playwright and novelist in the 1960s. In 2019 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
