Biography
Peter Hyams is an American film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. He was born on 26 July 1943 in New York City.
Hyams directed and wrote the conspiracy thriller Capricorn One (1977). His other films as director include Outland (1981), the science-fiction sequel 2010 (1984), Timecop (1994), Sudden Death (1995), The Relic (1997) and End of Days (1999). He has also worked as a cinematographer, including on films directed by his son John Hyams.
In 2016 Hyams appeared as himself in the documentary O.J.: Made in America, reflecting on his former friendship with O.J. Simpson.
