Biography
Peter James is an Australian cinematographer. Born in Sydney in 1947, he has worked as director of photography or cinematographer on more than fifty films since the early 1970s.
His credits include Driving Miss Daisy (1989), Black Robe (1991), Alive (1993), Double Jeopardy (1999), Meet the Parents (2000), 27 Dresses (2008) and Yogi Bear (2010). He has collaborated frequently with director Bruce Beresford.
James is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. He was inducted into the Australian Cinematographers Society Hall of Fame in 1999, has won the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Achievement in Cinematography three times and the Australian Cinematographers Society Milli Award four times, and received an Emmy nomination for the 2003 television film And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself.
