Biography
Peter Lefcourt is an American television writer, producer, screenwriter and novelist. He wrote episodes of series including Cagney & Lacey (1982), for which he also served as producer, Remington Steele (1982), Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983), Eight Is Enough (1977) and Due South (1994). He created and wrote for Beggars and Choosers (1999) and contributed to Desperate Housewives (2004).
Lefcourt won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series for Cagney & Lacey in 1985, after a nomination the previous year. He has also written television films such as Monte Carlo (1986) and Danielle Steel's Fine Things (1990). Beginning in the 1990s he published novels including The Deal (1991), which was adapted into a feature film that premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, The Dreyfus Affair (1992) and Di & I (1994). He has written for the stage and lives in California with his wife Terri.
