Biography
Peter McKenna is an Irish television writer, creator and executive producer. He created and showran the crime drama Kin (2021–2023) for RTÉ, BBC and AMC, and developed, wrote and produced Hidden Assets (2021–) and Red Rock (2015) for RTÉ, BBC and Amazon.
His other writing credits include episodes of Gangs of London (2025), Around the World in 80 Days (2021), The Last Kingdom (2020), The Gloaming (2020), The Musketeers (2014–2016), EastEnders (2011–2018) and earlier work on The Clinic (2005–2009). He has also served as executive producer on several of his series.
McKenna has received multiple Irish Film and Television Awards, including wins for Kin and Red Rock, and a BAFTA for a 2018 episode of EastEnders.
