Biography
Peter Snell is a Canadian film producer. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he moved to London to work in the film industry. His first film was Some May Live (1967). He became head of British Lion Films and greenlit The Wicker Man (1973) and Don't Look Now.
Snell has produced films often in collaboration with Alistair MacLean, Don Sharp and Charlton Heston, including Julius Caesar (1970), Antony and Cleopatra (1972), Bear Island (1979), Lady Jane (1986), A Prayer for the Dying (1987) and Blithe Spirit (2020). In 1988 he became owner and chief executive of British Lion. He also produced The Wicker Tree (2011).
