Biography

Phil Mishkin, also credited as Philip Mishkin, is an American television writer and playwright. He frequently collaborated with Rob Reiner, beginning with an improv group called the Sessions at UCLA. In 1969 he wrote two one-act plays staged in Los Angeles, one of which Reiner directed.

Mishkin co-wrote four episodes of All in the Family (1971–1972) with Reiner and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Comedy in 1972. He co-created the series The Super (1972) and Free Country (1978) with Reiner, and later co-created Morton & Hayes (1991). His other writing credits include episodes of Matlock (1986), The Odd Couple and Sanford and Son.
