Biography
Philip Friend (20 February 1915 – 1 September 1987) was a British film and television actor. Born in Horsham, Sussex, he began his career on stage in 1935 and appeared on Broadway in French Without Tears (1937–38).
Friend's screen roles included Torps in Noël Coward and David Lean's In Which We Serve (1942). He later worked in Hollywood and British productions such as Enchantment (1948), Buccaneer's Girl (1950), Thunder on the Hill (1951) and The Son of Robin Hood (1958), as well as television series including The Errol Flynn Theatre and The Third Man.
He was married to the actress Eileen Erskine.
