Biography
Philip Reed is an American writer for television, stage and print. He began his career as a reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago and later worked for newspapers in Denver before moving to Los Angeles, where he wrote theatre reviews and had plays produced, including True Blues (1984) and Nightside (1987).
Reed wrote an episode of the series Miami Vice (1984), co-written with Joel Surnow, and contributed to Beauty and the Beast and the series Probe (1988). He has also published novels, including the mystery Bird Dog (1997), nominated for an Edgar Award, and non-fiction works on sports.
