Biography
Philippa Campbell is a New Zealand film and television producer. She trained as an actor at Toi Whakaari: The New Zealand Drama School and graduated with a B.A. from Victoria University of Wellington. In the 1980s she headed Television New Zealand’s in-house Drama Department Script Unit, editing over 100 hours of television drama, before moving into producing.
Her feature film credits as producer include Via Satellite (1998), Rain (2001), No. 2 (2006), and Black Sheep (2006). She produced both seasons of Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake (2013–2017).
Campbell has also worked in theatre as Literary Manager at the Auckland Theatre Company and is a partner in the Auckland-based production company Field Theory.
