Biography
Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu, known professionally as Philippe Leroy, was a French actor. Born in Paris on 15 October 1930, he began his screen career after serving as a paratrooper and captain in the French Foreign Legion.
He made his film debut as Manu Borelli in Jacques Becker’s Le Trou (1960). From the early 1960s he worked extensively in Italian cinema while continuing to appear in French productions, accumulating credits in more than 150 films and television series. Notable roles include appearances in The Night Porter (1974), Nikita (1990) and the television series Sandokan (1976). He died in Rome on 1 June 2024, aged 93. His daughter is the actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
