Biography
Phillip Howze is a writer and playwright. He is a graduate of Yale School of Drama and has had plays developed or produced at venues including the Bushwick Starr, BRIC-Arts Media, Clubbed Thumb, the Public Theater, San Francisco Playhouse and Yale Cabaret. His works include Frontieres Sans Frontieres and Self Portraits.
Howze has also written for television. His credits include a teleplay for an episode of Mindhunter (2019), writing for The Eddy (2020) and staff writing on Genius (2021). He holds fellowships from the Sundance Institute Theater Lab and New York Theater Workshop, and has served as a resident writer at Lincoln Center Theater.
Howze is the Associate Senior Lecturer on Theater, Dance and Media at Harvard University, where he teaches playwriting. He is a trustee at BRIC Arts-Media in Brooklyn.
