Biography
Phumzile Sitole is a South African actress, writer and director. She holds an honours degree in theatre and performance from the University of Cape Town and an MFA in acting from Columbia University.
Her television credits include recurring roles as Akers in Orange Is the New Black (2018–2019) and as General Ndoye in Star Trek: Discovery (2020–2022), as well as appearances in The Good Fight (2017–2019), Elementary (2019) and Bull (2020). In 2026 she played Lauren in the Marvel series Wonder Man.
Sitole has also directed and produced short films and returned to Johannesburg after more than a decade working in the United States.
