Biography
Phyllis George was an American actress and sportscaster. She played Linda Banks in the 2000 film Meet the Parents.
Born in Denton, Texas, George was crowned Miss Texas 1970 and Miss America 1971. In 1975 she became one of the first women to hold a prominent on-air role in national sports broadcasting as a co-host of CBS's The NFL Today. She served as First Lady of Kentucky from 1979 to 1983 during the governorship of her then-husband John Y. Brown Jr. Her other screen credits include an uncredited appearance in Funny Girl (1968) and a guest spot on The Muppet Show (1976).
