Biography
Pixote Hunt, also credited as Maurice Hunt, is an American film director and animator. He began his career in animation in the late 1970s and worked extensively in the 1980s and 1990s at studios including Walt Disney and Hanna-Barbera.
Hunt directed the animated sequences for The Pagemaster (1994) and the 'Symphony No. 5' segment of Fantasia 2000 (2000). He has also directed the shorts One by One (2004) and Hear My Cry (2005), on which he additionally served as writer and producer. His earlier credits include animation on The Black Cauldron (1985) and art direction on The Rescuers Down Under (1990).
He is a BFA graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York and has taught at institutions including the California Institute of the Arts and Laguna College of Art and Design.
