Biography
Pouya Shahbazian is a film and television producer. His credits include Divergent (2014), The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015), The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016), American Honey (2016), Love, Simon (2018) and Sleeping Dogs (2024). He has also served as executive producer on the series Love, Victor (2020–2022) and Shadow and Bone (2021–2023).
Shahbazian was born in New York and moved to Sunnyvale, California, at the age of ten. He graduated from the University of Virginia and received a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2003. He began his career in the motion picture literary department at the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency before leading FinePrint Productions and co-founding ManDown Pictures & Management. He later served as head of film and television at New Leaf Literary & Media.
In 2024 he founded Staircase Studios AI, where he is CEO, focusing on AI-assisted production of low-budget film, television and gaming projects.
