Biography
Prashanth Venkataramanujam is a writer, producer and director. Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, to Tamil immigrant parents, he studied molecular and cellular biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign before moving into comedy and television.
He is best known as co-creator, head writer and executive producer of the Netflix series Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (2018–2020). His other credits include staff writer on Bill Nye Saves the World (2017–2018), head writer for the 2017 White House Correspondents' Dinner, and producer on The Fix with Jimmy Carr (2018). He has received an Emmy nomination and a Peabody Award.
Venkataramanujam served as writer and supervising producer on the series Bait (2026). He is Chief Content Officer at 186K Films and has directed and produced stand-up specials including Hasan Minhaj: The King's Jester (2022).
