Biography
Rachael Dowling is an Irish actor. She made her screen debut as Lily in John Huston's The Dead (1987). Subsequent film roles include the Policewoman in In the Name of the Father (1993), Girl at Dance in The Field (1990), Maureen in Bogwoman (1997) and Mary Anne in The Tichborne Claimant (1998).
On television she has appeared as Sharon in the long-running Irish serial Glenroe, as Claire Larkin in Kin (2021) and as the Dress Shop Owner in Penny Dreadful (2014). Her stage work includes a professional debut in Jim Sheridan's 1985 New York production of Brendan Behan's The Hostage and a 2012 run in Edna O'Brien's adaptation of The Country Girls at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre.
Dowling studied film and television production at Hunter College in New York and holds an MA in Film Studies from Dublin City University. She has lectured in film history, directed the short film Stealth and worked as a script editor and creative consultant.
