Biography
Rafael Campos (13 May 1936 – 9 July 1985) was a Dominican-American character actor. Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, he moved to the United States in 1949. He began his screen career in 1955 with a role in Blackboard Jungle, after being spotted by director Richard Brooks during a stage production.
Campos appeared in numerous films and television series over three decades. His credits include Trial (1955), Dino (1957), The Light in the Forest (1958), Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) and V (1983). On television he had a recurring role as Ramon Diaz Jr. in ten episodes of Rhoda (1977–1978) and guest appearances in series such as All in the Family (1971), Gunsmoke, The Streets of San Francisco and The A-Team.
He was briefly married to singer Dinah Washington from 1961 to 1962. Campos died of stomach cancer in Woodland Hills, California.
