Biography
Ramya Krishnan is an Indian actress who has appeared in films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Born on 15 September 1970 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, she began her career with the Tamil film Vellai Manasu (1985). She gained prominence in Telugu cinema with Sutradharulu (1989).
She is known for her performances as Neelambari in Padayappa (1999), for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil, and as Rajamata Sivagami in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), winning Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for both. Other notable roles include appearances in Super Deluxe (2019) and Jailer (2023).
