Biography
Randi Mayem Singer is an American screenwriter, producer and showrunner. She studied political science at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as a radio news reporter and anchor in San Francisco and Los Angeles before entering screenwriting.
Her first produced screenplay was for the 1993 comedy Mrs. Doubtfire, co-written with Leslie Dixon. She later wrote the screenplays for Tooth Fairy (2010) and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015), and contributed to television series including Jack & Jill (1999–2001), which she created, Hudson Street (1995–1996) and episodes of Why Women Kill (2019). She has also taught screenwriting at UCLA and was inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2022.
