Biography
Ratna Assan is an American actress, model, dancer and singer. Born Ratna Setiawati Assan on 16 December 1954 in Torrance, California, she is the daughter of Indonesian dancer and actress Devi Dja. She began performing as a child, trained by her mother in dance, song and modelling, and appeared in television series including episodes of Destry (1964) and Mister Roberts (1965).
Assan is best known for her role as Zoraima in the 1973 film Papillon, opposite Steve McQueen. She had earlier appeared uncredited in the television series Anna and the King (1972). Her screen career spanned the early 1960s to the mid-1970s.
