Biography
Rica Matsumoto, also credited as Rika Matsumoto or under the Japanese name 松本 梨香, is a Japanese voice actress and singer. She was born on 30 November 1968 in Yokohama, Kanagawa.
Matsumoto began her career in theatre before moving into voice acting, with an early role in the 1988 series Osomatsu-kun. She is best known for voicing Satoshi (Ash Ketchum) in the Pokémon anime series from 1997 and in numerous related films. Other notable voice roles include Rumi in Perfect Blue (1998), Ryo Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (2000), and characters in series such as You're Under Arrest and TRIGUN (both 1998). She has also performed theme songs for Pokémon and was a founder member of the anison band JAM Project.
