Biography

Richard Biggs was an American television and stage actor. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on 18 March 1960, he studied theatre at the University of Southern California on a scholarship. He briefly taught at a Los Angeles high school before his first major television role as Dr Marcus Hunter on the soap opera Days of Our Lives (1987–1994).

Biggs appeared as Dr Stephen Franklin on the science-fiction series Babylon 5 (1994–1998) and reprised the part in related television films and the spin-off Crusade. His other television credits include recurring roles on Any Day Now, Guiding Light and Strong Medicine, as well as guest appearances on series such as ER, JAG and Touched by an Angel. He performed in stage productions including The Tempest, Cymbeline and The Taming of the Shrew. Biggs died in Los Angeles on 22 May 2004, aged 44.
