Biography
Richard De Roy was an American television writer and producer. Born on 14 May 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Stanford University and began his career writing for live anthology series in the 1950s, including Studio One and Schlitz Playhouse of Stars.
He contributed teleplays to series such as The Twilight Zone (1963), Hawaii Five-O and Hart to Hart. De Roy served as a staff writer and later producer on Peyton Place (1964–1966) and as supervising producer and writer on Remington Steele (1980s). He received a Writers Guild of America award for his 1963 Alcoa Premiere teleplay 'Jeeney Ray'. He died on 8 March 2008 in Los Angeles, California.
