Biography
Richard Eyer is an American former child actor who appeared in films and television during the 1950s and 1960s. Born on 6 May 1945 in Santa Monica, California, he began his career after winning personality contests and moved into acting in the early 1950s.
He is known for roles including Ralphie Hilliard in The Desperate Hours (1955), Little Jess Birdwell in Friendly Persuasion (1956), Timmie Merrinoe in The Invisible Boy (1957), and Barani the Genie in The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958). On television he played David Kane in the series Stagecoach West (1960–1961) and appeared in episodes of Gunsmoke, Rawhide and Combat!.
After leaving acting he became an elementary school teacher in Bishop, California, retiring in 2006. He is the older brother of the late child actor Robert Eyer.
