Biography
Richard Greatrex is a retired Welsh cinematographer. Born in Swansea in 1947, he trained as an electrician before studying at Coleg Harlech, the University of Sussex, Balliol College, Oxford, and graduating from the National Film and Television School in 1980.
He served as director of photography on Mrs Brown (1997), Shakespeare in Love (1998) — for which he received Academy Award and BAFTA nominations — Where the Heart Is (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Chaos (2005), Run Fatboy Run (2007) and Flawless (2007). He won a BAFTA Television Award for The Woman in White (1997).
