Biography
Richard Strauss (1864–1949) was a German composer of the late Romantic and early modern periods. He was born in Munich and worked as a conductor in Germany and Austria.
His compositions include operas such as Salome and Der Rosenkavalier, the Four Last Songs, and tone poems including Also sprach Zarathustra, Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks and An Alpine Symphony. His music features in the 2002 film The Hours.
