Biography
Richard Thompson is an English songwriter, guitarist, singer and composer. He co-founded the folk-rock band Fairport Convention in 1967 and left the group in 1971 to pursue a solo career and collaborations, including several albums with his then-wife Linda Thompson.
Thompson has released numerous solo albums and received an OBE in 2011 for services to music. He composed and performed the soundtrack for Werner Herzog's documentary Grizzly Man (2005), recorded over two days in December 2004.
